About Me

For as long as I can remember I’ve been a lover of art, enjoyed photography, painting and mostly anything crafty.  Throw in all things medieval and renaissance and you have a perfect storm of what drew me to the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism).  I attended my first event in March of 2018 and was hooked right from the start.  I had been exposed to many different aspects including arts, sciences, and martial activities, but what spoke to me was the beautiful artwork created by people of the SCA.  I immediately wanted to learn more and sought out anyone and everyone to find out how I could participate.  The local scribes showed me where to begin and I jumped in with both feet and took a stab at painting in this style in October of 2018.  From there, the rest is history.

This blog is aimed to take you through my process and to share my journey of scribal work with you.  I will explain what I learned during the making of each piece and hope to help others who are just starting out.  Enjoy!

Yours In Service,
Lily
